So last night Mr. West took to Twitter and at first deleted the June 18th tweet and then tweeted that he would be premiering a new song & visual from his upcoming album on sixty-six landmark buildings in 10 cities across North America, Europe & Australia. Aside from Kanye West premiering some new music, I would like to quote Rob Markman: “People are gathering on street corners just to hear and see some new hip hop. Let that soak in. Don’t down play the moment”. So true. West’s idea of taking it to your doorsteps is ingenious. No blogs, TV, social network, right to the streets. Applause for Kanye & hit below for more footage from more cities. Also, don’t forget Kanye West will be the musical guest on the season finale of SNL tonight.
The second installment of our Mother’s Day edition of Throwback Thursday comes from Kanye West. Hey Mama comes off Kanye’s second album “Late Registration” in 2005. This track demonstrates the pride that we have for our mothers. The video is from Kanye’s performance at the Grammys in 2008. This rendition shows so much emotion and you see that emotion during this tribute to his mother who passed in 2007. R.I.P. Donda West.
Hey Mama, I wanna scream so loud for you, because I’m so proud of you
Let me tell you what I’m about to do, Hey Mama
I know I act a fool but, I promise you I’m going back to school
I appreciate what you allowed for me
I just want you to be proud of me Hey Mama - Kanye West
